Charles Bruckerhoff is devoted to educating people on safe use of all firearms and especially pistols because he believes that not knowing the essential information about handguns leads to unnecessary fear, mishandling, and tragic accidents.
Charles has longstanding experience with firearms, including rifles and shotguns for hunting and target shooting; handguns, rifles, and machine guns in the U.S. Army (Vietnam); competitive shooting with black powder revolvers, carbines, and muskets; and competitive shooting and instruction on modern revolvers and semi-autos.
He formed the Foresight company, became a NRA-certified pistol instructor, and began teaching the basic pistol course when accidents involving handguns—especially among children—became widespread; when criminal activity increasingly threatened personal safety for people of all ages and ethnic and racial groups in urban, suburban, and rural communities; and when the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which grants to every law-abiding individual the right to own a firearm for personal defense, was targeted for modification and eventual removal by the anti-gun movement.
By formal education Charles has a Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. and has substantial experience in teaching various academic and training courses across all age groups. He serves as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop-34 of Windham Center, CT which provides opportunity year-round to help the young scouts learn essential life skills and become men of good character.
Foresight is a subsidiary of Curriculum Research and Evaluation, Inc. (CRE), which specializes in conducting research-based studies of innovative educational programs in Connecticut, the New England Region, and nationally.
